Laura Delighted to Win Award for Environmental Achievement

Laura Sandys is thrilled to have received an award in recognition of the environmental work she has carried out during her time in Parliament and before.

At the Green Ribbon Political Awards 2014, held yesterday at the House of Commons, Laura was humbled to receive the Green Ribbon Award for Special Recognition of Environmental Achievement. She was especially pleased to receive the award from environmentalist Sir Jonathon Porritt, a noted writer and green campaigner.

Laura said: “I am blown away to receive this Green Ribbon Award, and would like to put on record my huge thanks to the judging panel and Sir Jonathon, for presenting it to me. Throughout my time in Parliament, I have done everything I can to put environmental issues on the top of the agenda, through reports, speeches and campaigning around the low carbon, circular and green economy. There is still a huge amount of work to do to ensure that the environment is at the top of the agenda, and I will continue to fight for action on all fronts long after my time as an MP comes to an end.”
